respect for the coaches, how hard they work, understanding the time and effort

dishing out five assists. In the future, according to DeRozan, the coaching work of Billy Donovan and his staff was also
underestimated. The same Donovan whose betting odds saw the first NBA coach fired a few weeks ago this season.

about changing coaches after the bad start, and DeRozan insisted the locker
room never lost faith in Donovan. It was nothing more than an overreaction to
outside noise. “I played for Dwane Casey, he was coach of the year,” DeRozan said. “Playing for Gregg Popovich, probably
one of the greatest coaches of all time, and playing for Billy, my personal
opinion is that he’s right up there with those two guys just because of the respect and the effort that he gets. More
than that, he’s a guy you want to go out with and be successful, not just for yourself, but for him as well. “The love
and respect I have for Billy is exactly the same as I had for the other two guys mentioned. I’ve been lucky throughout
my career to have coaches like that. I tell a lot of young players, you don’t know what you has Never take it for granted
when you have such a great and kind coach, hardworking coach in Billy
because it’s not always greener on the other side. That’s just one of the lessons
DeRozan wants the younger players on the roster to learn. Another more immediate one? Never let Butler do that,
that was the sentiment shared by the entire team after Butler left. “We’ve got to be able to run and catch him,”
Donovan said of the final buzzer. “[Butler] was probably late. We can
definitely learn something from that.” “At
that point, we probably should have sent someone [a double team],” center Nikola
