remains the winningest manager in club

rugby in Japan after his seven-time champions Saitama Wild Knights started

the season two to two. The Wild Knights hammered the Hanazono Liners 49-0 in

Sunday’s League One encounter after a 41-point first-round win over the Yokohama Eagles. Australian-born

Japanese center Dylan Riley scored in Osaka’s Saitamaand#039; two goals from

eight attempts, while Hanazono’s squad includes veteran Australian midfielder

Will Genia, who made his Deans debut in 2009. Quade Cooper, presented to the Wallabies by Deans in 2008, has yet to

appear for Hanazono this term.

Saitamad#039;s Wallaby winger Marika Koroibete scored in the 64th minute at Hanazono Stadium despite not being

among the scorers after missing last week’s substitution. Deans wasn’t the

only former Wallaby coach to enjoy success on Sunday as Dave Rennie picked up his second win of the season, albeit a

much tighter one, as Kobe Steelers beat Shizuoka Blue Revs 30-26. Leading 18-8 at half-time, the visitors found

themselves seven minutes in before winger Kanta Matsunaga scored the

winner. Cricket match 2023-24 Toshiba Brave Lupus Tokyo won a thrilling Fuchu

derby with All Black back lady Shannon Frizell among the scorers as Todd

Blackadderand#039; the men beat Tokyo Sungoliath 26-19, who will be consulted

by future Japanese coach Eddie Jones. The game was the second of two that drew more than 30,000, the same crowd

that saw the Eagles bounce back from an opening day loss to beat Steve Hansen’s Toyota Verblitz 24-22 at Kanagawa

Nissan and #039; Stadium on Saturday. In other highlights on Saturday, Wallaby

Five Eight Bernard Foley scored 25 points as Kubota Spears Tokyo Bay downed the Mie Honda Heat 75-0, while

Australian center Curtis Rona scored for the Sagamihara Dynaboarsand#039 for

the second straight week. 25-17 win over the Ricoh Black Rams. In Division Two,

Samu Kerevi scored the first try for his new club as Urayasu D-Rocks scored nine tries to crush Kyuden Voltex 57-12.

Toyota Industries Shuttles Aichi overcame a 19-point deficit just after

half-time to beat Green Rockets Tokatsu 36-25, with former Waratahs and Chiefs fullback Taleni Sau scoring. Red

Hurricanes Osaka joined the Shuttles to

remain unbeaten, but only after a heart-stopping goal when Australian Bryce

Hegarty kicked an 82nd-minute penalty to beat struggling Kamaishi Seawaves 27-25. Get the latest news from
