The DHL Stormers defeated the Vodacom Bulls 26-20 in a tense South African derby in Cape Town to lift the 2022 champions to seventh in the BKT United Rugby Championship.
The Stormers took the lead after just 14 minutes, playing in front of a crowd of 42,000 at DHL Stadium, with Manie Libbok’s strike ultimately proving the difference.
The flying Springbok side hit three penalties and two conversions on a perfect night after kick-off, ensuring the Bulls were on the losing end despite winning three from two.
Bulls director of rugby Jake White previews URC’s round eight clash with the Stormers Reinhardt Ludwig, Kurt-Lee Arendse and Canan Moodie crossed the whitewash for the Bulls, while Jean-Luc Du Plessis and Ruhan Nel scored for the hosts.
