McCaffrey’s Calf Injury: A Minor Hurdle on the Road to Victory for the 49ers.

Leading NFL rusher Christian McCaffrey thinks his calf injury is not serious as he prepares for the NFC playoffs with the top-seeded 49ers.,

Christian McCaffrey appeared to indicate that his right calf strain, which kept him out of the 49ers’ 27-10 victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday night, won’t affect his eligibility for the playoffs.

Not sure what transpired. Really not that big of a deal, McCaffrey remarked. “You’d be better to just rest it,” they said out of caution while I was having trouble pushing off for a short while.

Without a doubt, McCaffrey will miss the final regular-season game against the Los Angeles Rams in order to recuperate. He will then use the wild-card bye.

Regarding McCaffrey’s anticipated MRI exam, coach Kyle Shanahan stated, “He was moving around alright on the sideline, so we’re hoping it’s not too bad, but we won’t know until (Monday).”

Along with locking up the top seed in the NFC playoffs, the 49ers (12-4) also have a chance to win the NFL rushing title for the first time since Joe “The Jet” Perry in 1954 thanks to McCaffrey’s 1,459 rushing yards. McCaffrey leads Rams quarterback Kyren Williams by 315 yards.

McCaffrey, who finished with 64 rushing yards (14 carries) and 27 receiving yards (four catches), stated, “We just made the right decision.” I didn’t want to go in there and make things worse, especially because I didn’t know what would happen the following week.
