According to a source within the Washington Commanders, there is a belief among certain experienced players that they may choose not to participate in the upcoming game against the Cowboys due to a negative atmosphere within the team.

The Dallas Cowboys can easily secure the No.2 seed in the NFC playoffs by defeating the Washington Commanders. In addition to clinching the NFC East title, this victory will grant the Cowboys the opportunity to play two postseason games at home, as long as they continue to progress.

Dallas may have found some relief in completing that task. As per NBC Sports’ insider JP Finlay, it is believed that many of the experienced players on the Commanders’ team will not participate in the game against the Cowboys.

Given their 4-12 record and lack of motivation, it is logical for the Commanders to bench their top players, especially considering that a loss would improve their draft position. However, the Cowboys must be cautious as a lackluster performance could provide an opportunity for the Philadelphia Eagles to win the division for a second consecutive year, securing the No.2 seed. Consequently, this would drop Dallas to the No.5 seed, necessitating away games throughout the playoffs unless unexpected upsets occur.

This should provide the Cowboys with additional incentive to start strong in the game and secure an early victory, allowing their experienced players to rest and prepare for the upcoming playoffs.
