Two esteemed members of the New England Patriots have become part of a renowned group of former Patriots who have achieved the esteemed Ed Block Courage Award.

David Andrews and Jonathan Jones, two players from the New England Patriots, have been jointly awarded the 2024 Ed Block Courage Award by the team.

Every year, a player or players who embody courage, sportsmanship, professionalism, and dedication are recognized and awarded with the honor.

In 2023, Andrews was selected as team captain for the seventh year in a row and in 2024, he participated in every offensive play. Initially joining the Patriots in 2015 as an undrafted rookie from the University of Georgia, this experienced center has accumulated 117 starts in his eight-year professional journey. Andrews played a crucial role throughout the season, strengthening the interior of the offensive line to safeguard Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe, the Patriots’ quarterbacks. He also holds the achievement of being a two-time Super Bowl champion.

In 2016, Jones joined the Patriots as an undrafted rookie from Auburn. Throughout his time with the team, he appeared in 115 games, primarily as the starting cornerback. He was recognized for his outstanding community service, being named the Patriots’ nominee for the 2023 Walter Payton Man of the Year award and winning the Ron Burton Community Service Award.

On April 7, Andrews and Jones, along with award recipients from the other 31 NFL teams, will be recognized at the 46th Ed Block Courage Awards Banquet, held at the Baltimore Raven Courage House for the third consecutive year.

In 2023, Andrews and Jones have been chosen as the representatives for the Patriots, joining a distinguished group of former Patriot players who have also received this honor.
