Eagles Fly Into Playoffs without Key Weapon After Injury News

One of the Philadelphia Eagles’ top receiving assets will be absent when they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their wild card clash.

A.J. Brown, the receiver for the Eagles, will not be playing in Monday’s game due to a knee injury, as reported by Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network.

According to Garafolo, even though Brown missed practice throughout the week, there is a possibility of him participating in the divisional round if the Eagles are able to advance.

The Eagles, once considered a top contender for the Super Bowl, have been in a slump, losing five out of their last six games. As a result, they are now in need of the talents of three-time Pro Bowler, Brown, to help turn their season around.

Brown had his best season yet with the Eagles, making an impressive 106 catches for 1,456 yards and scoring seven touchdowns. The Titans traded him to the Eagles in 2022 in exchange for a first and third-round pick after he spent three seasons with them.

Following the trade, Brown inked a lucrative four-year deal worth $100 million with the NFC East franchise. His addition proved to be highly advantageous, as he achieved personal bests by accumulating 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns during the previous season, while also serving as quarterback Jalen Hurts’ top receiving target.

The Eagles had a successful stint with Brown, leading up to Super Bowl 57. Despite a 38-35 loss to the Chiefs, Brown’s commendable performance, including six receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown, contributed to their success. However, they now face the challenge of moving forward without him.
