The Ravens had a successful season in 2023, and they intend to carry it over into the postseason. Baltimore, which finished the season 13–4 and holds the top seed in the AFC, is looking forward to its opponent in the second round while taking advantage of a bye week during Super Wild Card Weekend.
In his second season with the Ravens, defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald has led his team to the No. 6 defense in the league in 2023, raising questions about his potential as a head coach.
Macdonald is being contacted by a number of clubs, and the Falcons conducted a virtual interview with him on Friday.
In an attempt to replace Arthur Smith, who was let go on January 8, Atlanta conducted its first interview. For their head coaching jobs, the Titans, Commanders, Panthers, and Chargers have all asked to interview Macdonald.
Todd Monken was brought in this season to revamp the offensive scheme for quarterback Lamar Jackson, who was just signed. Monken played for Georgia during the previous two seasons, where he was a key player in the Bulldogs’ back-to-back national titles.
The Chargers interviewed Monken on Friday in an attempt to replace Brandon Staley, who was fired. With 370.4 yards per game, Monken led the Ravens offense and was sixth in the league. Jackson, his quarterback, was selected to the first team of the NFL and is the clear favorite to earn MVP of the league for the second time in his career.
On Thursday, Monken had an interview with the Panthers as well.
