Tyreek Hill, Fred Warner, and Christian McCaffrey are all unanimously selected for The Associated.
A nationwide panel of media people who follow the league on a regular basis selected the first team, with votes going to McCaffrey and Warner of the 49ers and Hill of the Dolphins.
Regarding being selected unanimously for his third overall selection, Warner remarked, “No freakin’ way.” Whoa, that’s really unique.
Three San Francisco teammates—left tackle Trent Williams, fullback Kyle Juszczyk, and tight end George Kittle—join running back McCaffrey and linebacker Warner.
With 45 first-place votes, Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson was selected for his second All-Pro team. Josh Allen of Buffalo garnered the other first-place vote, with Dak Prescott of Dallas and Brock Purdy of San Francisco sharing the remaining two.
Aaron Donald, a defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams, is selected eight times, which ties him for most selections by a defensive player and fifth overall. Zack Martin, a right guard for the Cowboys, was selected seven times, while Eagles center Jason Kelce was selected six times.
Fourteen players are first-timers, including three from Dallas, the NFC East champion: kicker Brandon Aubrey, cornerback DaRon Bland, and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who narrowly missed being selected unanimously by one vote.
Lamb, who led the NFL with 135 receptions, 1,749 yards receiving, and 12 touchdowns, said, “It’s very rewarding.” Clearly, all of the effort has been worthwhile. It’s also humble.
All-Pro selections included Detroit wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, New York Jets linebacker Quincy Williams, and Tampa Bay safety Antoine Winfield Jr. All three players were not selected for the Pro Bowl.
St. Brown, who assisted the Lions in winning their first division championship in thirty years, stated, “That’s the highest of them all, so it’s an honor, but I got to keep working.”
