Adam Peters Agrees to Long-Term Deal with the Commanders: What Does This Mean for the Team?

The news on Friday was that the Commanders had chosen Adam Peters as their new General Manager, and on Monday, a significant detail about the agreement surfaced.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, former 49ers assistant G.M. Peters and the Commanders have reached an agreement for a five-year contract, which is expected to be officially signed by Peters early this week. Once Peters has signed, the Commanders will then focus on their head coaching search. Team owner Josh Harris has expressed his desire to fill the football operations role before proceeding with the coaching search. It was reported on Monday that Dan Quinn, the defensive coordinator for the Cowboys, will interview with the Commanders on Thursday.

 

The team has reportedly requested interviews with Lions’ defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, Lions’ offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, Rams’ defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, Ravens’ defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, and Texans’ offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik.
