In a recent NFL playoff game, Miami Dolphins cornerback L’Jarius Sneed of the Kansas City Chiefs shut down star receiver Tyreek Hill with an outstanding defensive effort. Sneed’s disruptive play against Hill, particularly one especially memorable play in which he jammed Hill and provoked a shove from the irate receiver, helped the Chiefs to a commanding 26-7 victory.
Sneed’s Outstanding Performance
Miami’s scoring was limited thanks in large part to Sneed’s aggressive defense, which resulted in a sack of Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. With a lighthearted nod, Hill acknowledged Sneed’s influence, saying that Sneed jammed him to Cancun, signifying an early end to his season. Sneed finished the game with four tackles and gave up just two receptions for 20 yards.
Season Summary
Sneed has played exceptionally well this season, as seen by the two games in which he allowed only one reception on eight targets to the Dolphins’ top receivers, Jaylen Waddle and Hill. Sneed was effective, although he was not chosen for the Pro Bowl. After the season, he is expected to sign a lucrative deal as a free agent.
Gazing Forward
The Chiefs are getting ready for their next playoff game, which will see them take on the winner of the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Buffalo Bills wild card game. The Chiefs will undoubtedly benefit greatly from Sneed’s ongoing ability to stop elite receivers like Hill as they advance in the playoffs.
