Amy Trask, the former CEO of the Las Vegas Raiders who was based in Oakland, discussed the current NFL Playoffs Divisional Round schedule this weekend on a podcast. When discussing the games, she would focus even more on the quarterbacks for each team, suggesting that Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers is the worst player left in the postseason out of all of them, citing the X (formerly known as Twitter) account TheSFNiners, which gives credit to “The Rich Eisen Show.”
“We have eight quarterbacks because we have four games this week. I did the math by myself,” Trask remarked. “Brock Purdy, eight quarterbacks, seven excellent quarterbacks.”
Purdy is a good player at the position, she would remark, advising 49ers supporters to “be calm.” She would, however, reiterate her claim that Purdy is not in the “same category” as the other players in the same situation.
“There’s no denying that Brock Purdy is a capable quarterback right now. Be calm, 49ers supporters, everyone,” Trask remarked. “I’m not saying Brock isn’t a capable quarterback. Yes, he is. He just doesn’t belong in the same league as the other quarterbacks, in my opinion. I’ll tell it one more. Seven excellent quarterbacks, eight quarterbacks, and Brock Purdy.
In addition to Purdy, the remaining quarterbacks in the NFL Playoffs are Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills, Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens, Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, CJ Stroud of the Houston Texans, Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions, Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers. According to Trask, Purdy thinks the seven previously named are “terrific,” but she doesn’t.
