A Top 2025 prospect has the Texas Longhorns at the top of his list when he plans a return trip to Austin for junior day.
One of the top running backs in the class of 2025 is already planning visits in preparation for the pivotal junior season.
Deondrae Riden is scheduled to visit the Texas Longhorns on January 20, according to Sam Spiegelman of On3.
A four-star running back from Desoto, Texas, Riden has received 34 FBS offers from schools including Alabama, Texas, Georgia, and Michigan, to mention a few.
The running back has revealed that Texas, Texas A&M, USC, Oregon, and SMU are some of the schools that are pursuing him the hardest, according to On3 Industry Rankings.
Riden has expressed his fondness for Longhorns running back coach Tashard Choice, highlighting their intimate bond.
“My guy is Coach Choice, and we talk every other day,” Riden said to On3. “He’s my guy, and we have a great relationship,”Days of junior high have become much more popular. A year or more before to signing day, these events function as initial opportunities for big programs to meet the best prospects of the upcoming recruiting class. Several junior days are open to invitation only, however, these are the outliers.
Depending on the school, junior days have different meanings. These activities, for example, have great significance at Texas, where tomorrow is junior day. The Longhorns have a history of getting junior commitments; at one occasion, they were able to secure ten pledges in one year.
This weekend, they have around twenty-five recruits coming in, including Riden.

Even while the significance is similar elsewhere, the results might not be as striking. The unofficial beginning of a year-long recruitment process occurs during junior days, which is a constant across Texas and other programs.
Many of the top programs’ coaches now spend more time recruiting during the year than they did in the months preceding signing day.
On February 3, Riden is also expected to visit Texas A&M again for the first time since Mike Elko became the Aggies’ head coach. Ridden is the No. 29-ranked recruit from the Lone Star State and the 178th overall player in the 2025 class.
Although Riden’s decision to attend any of these universities is still up in the air, Sarkisian and the Longhorns seem to have a good chance of landing the young running back.
