The 49ers have ended the season of their recent draft pick

Danny Grey will not help the San Francisco 49ers reach the Super Bowl, despite the fact that they are only two games away.

San Francisco did not activate the second-year receiver before Wednesday’s deadline, despite opening his 21-day practice window last month. Grey has not participated this year due to a shoulder ailment.

The 49ers do not have a receiving position open, and they appear to be preparing to promote safety and core special teams member George Odum back to the 53-man roster before Saturday’s Divisional Round game against the Green Bay Packers.

Gray’s disappointing season will raise questions about his future role on the team.

With Ronnie Bell playing consistently as a rookie and scoring two touchdowns this year, and the 49ers having 11 picks in this year’s draft, Grey may find himself on the losing end of a position competition to start next season after making only one reception in his NFL career.
