Following a peaceful Wild Card weekend, the San Francisco 49ers, who won the top seed, prepare to begin their playoff journey against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night.
The extra week of rest appears to have benefited the 49ers, as only one player, linebacker Dre Greenlaw, has an injury designation with just two days until the game.
As of Thursday’s report, Greenlaw is officially categorised as iffy, which is good news for the team.
On a lighter note, star running back Christian McCaffrey has been removed from the team’s injury list and will play without a designation this Saturday.
McCaffrey has effectively recovered from a calf injury suffered during Week 17’s victory over the Commanders, which forced him to miss the season finale against the Los Angeles Rams.
While several other starters from both teams missed the game, McCaffrey and the rest of the 49ers’ important players are determined to play in Saturday’s crucial matchup.
The 49ers were in the last two NFC Championship games but did not advance to the Super Bowl. This year, they are motivated to take the first step towards Super Bowl 58 by defeating the resilient Packers in front of their home audience on Saturday night.
