In the Divisional Round of the playoffs, the San Francisco 49ers overcame a 24-21 deficit to defeat the Green Bay Packers. They will now go to the NFC Championship Game to play the victor of the Detroit Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In the end, San Francisco prevailed thanks to a successful game-winning drive after the 49ers had a slow and difficult start to the game.
The 49ers trailed 21-14 going into the fourth quarter, but a Dre Greenlaw interception after the game completed the comeback.
After the game, 49ers analyst Rohan Chakravarthi gave his immediate assessment of the team’s 24-21 victory over the Green Bay Packers, outlining the key lessons the squad should learn going ahead.

Offense: Brock Purdy had a difficult game on Saturday for the most part. He missed open receivers, almost threw two picks, and struggled with accuracy throughout.
Purdy was unsteady even before the 49ers’ second-to-last drive, raising doubts about San Francisco’s ability to plan a game-winning drive.
All of those doubts were disregarded by Purdy, who proceeded to pass accurately several times to put the 49ers in the red zone, where Christian McCaffrey scored the game-winning touchdown.
Even though it was painful to watch Purdy struggle, it was vital to witness him overcome adversity and come back from behind in a crucial game like Saturday’s, and the second-year quarterback rose to the occasion.
Christian McCaffrey was tremendously effective on Saturday, but he shockingly didn’t have his usual volume as he had only 11 carries going into the fourth quarter.
The 49ers found success when they turned to the run, but they needed to do it more frequently, so it will be something to watch in the game the following weekend.
Defense
Aaron Jones ran for 108 yards on 18 carries, while the Packers gained 136 yards overall in the air, shredding the defense to pieces.
Running backs have free lanes for explosive plays because defenses frequently crash on the perimeter.
Though the 49ers gave up six drives into San Francisco territory to Green Bay, they only gave up two touchdowns during those drives because of two field goals forced, a missed field goal, and a turnover on downs.
The 49ers’ defense also forced two interceptions, a punt, and a missed field goal on Green Bay’s final four drives of the game. All of these factors contributed to the team’s three-point victory.
San Francisco will try to get better for the NFC title game the following weekend, but they also have another playoff game at Levi’s Stadium and recently faced what may be their toughest opponent.
