After a 10–10 deadlock at halftime, Jackson completed 9–11 throws for 100 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown pass to tight end Isaiah Likely. He also ran five times for 50 yards, including touchdown runs of eight and fifteen yards.
The Houston offense, meanwhile, failed to find the end zone during the game and only managed 68 yards of total offense in the second half. With 4:17 remaining in the first half, Steven Sims’ 67-yard punt return for a touchdown gave the Texans a tie in the game.
During the Houston-Baltimore game, seven players from Alabama high schools and universities took the field:
• The Texans started Alabama product Will Anderson Jr. at defensive end. Anderson was credited with one quarterback hit and one tackle for loss.
· Jalyn Armour-Davis, a cornerback for the Ravens from St. Paul’s Episcopal, Alabama, is not allowed to play because he is on injured reserve.
· The Texans started Nico Collins (Clay-Chalkville) as wide receiver. Collins gained 68 yards by catching five receptions.
· Malik Cunningham, a quarterback with the Ravens from Park Crossing, was declared inactive for the game.
· Tank Dell, a wide receiver for the Texans from Alabama A&M, is not allowed to participate due to an injury.
Tyrell Doss, an Aliceville native and guard with the Ravens, is now practicing and is not allowed to play.
· The Texans started Christian Harris (Alabama) at linebacker. With seven tackles, one tackle for loss, and one quarterback hit, Harris matched for the team lead.
Guard Tytus Howard of the Texans (Monroe County, Alabama State) is not able to participate since he is on injured reserve.
· Marlon Humphrey, a cornerback for the Ravens from Hoover, Alabama, was declared inactive for the game. Humphrey was unable to start because of a calf issue.
· Texas’s safety Despite dressing for the game, Kareem Jackson of Alabama did not participate.
· Tashawn Manning, an Auburn native, is a guard for the Ravens and is only allowed to practice.
· Christian Matthew (Samford), a cornerback for the Ravens, is only allowed to practice and is not allowed to play.
· John Metchie III, an Alabama wide receiver with the Texans, did not record any stats.
· Jeremiah Moon (Hoover), an outside linebacker for the Ravens, did not record any statistics.
· The Ravens started nose tackle Michael Pierce (Daphne, Samford). Pierce completed one tackle.
· Henry To’oTo’o of the Texans, an Alabama native, made three tackles.
· Texas’s safety Jimmie Ward (Davidson) is not permitted to play because he is on injured reserve.
· Kilian Zierer, an offensive tackle for the Texans from Auburn, is out due to injury and is not allowed to participate.
Houston won three games the previous season before going 10-7 in 2023 to win the AFC South. Last week, in their debut year under former Alabama linebacker DeMeco Ryans, the team defeated the Cleveland Browns 45-14 to start the playoffs.
Baltimore earned the top seed in the AFC and a bye into the first round of the playoffs last week with a 13-4 regular-season record.
The AFC Championship Game on January 28 at 2 p.m. CST at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore will feature the Ravens against the victor of Sunday’s Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills game. The game will be aired on CBS.
