Christian McCaffrey of the 49ers joins the ranks of the Hall of Fame

Christian McCaffrey was always going to be a major part of the San Francisco 49ers’ postseason experience, and his contribution to their exciting divisional round victory against the Green Bay Packers was evident.

The 49ers defeated the seven-seeded Packers with McCaffrey scoring two touchdowns on the ground (for 98 yards and two touchdowns) and 30 yards in receptions. With just over a minute remaining, McCaffrey’s second touchdown rush—a six-yard run—put the Niners up for good. The game was sealed with Jordan Love’s second interception by Dre Greenlaw.

McCaffrey’s primary concern will be that game-winning score, but his outstanding performance also created NFL history for the 49ers running back.

In his first five career playoff games, McCaffrey became the sixth player overall and the fourth running back in NFL history to record at least 50 scrimmage yards and a score.

The other three running backs on the list are Marcus Allen, Terrell Davis, and Curtis Martin; the two non-running backs are Randy Moss and Larry Fitzgerald.

McCaffrey may be keeping esteemed company, but his one goal is to become a Super Bowl champion. Another unprecedented attempt has brought him one step closer.
