Nick Saban’s retirement is a huge plus for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Julian Sayin, a five-star quarterback, is moving to Ohio State, his high school head coach announced on Sunday. Sayin had originally committed to Alabama and enrolled early. Sayin is getting ready for his upcoming freshman year by enrolling in classes in Columbus.
Sayin’s prep coach in Southern California, Thadd MacNeal of Carlsbad High School, informed Greg Biggins of 247 Sports that Sayin enrolled at Alabama to play for Saban. Sayin said he wanted a coaching staff he felt more at ease with, but he had no problems with the new staff. Before deciding to commit to Alabama, Ohio State actively recruited Sayin.
In reality, the Buckeyes were No. 2 for him, according to MacNeal. They really came in second, and as far as I’m aware, he went at least twice. Ryan Day, the offense, and how quarterback-friendly he is were all adored by him.
Sayin was initially extended a scholarship offer by Bill O’Brien, the new offensive coordinator at Ohio State, when O’Brien was still at Alabama.
Since the Buckeyes have already committed to a veteran quarterback for 2024, Sayin will probably be a redshirt or a backup in that season. Given that he was the class’s top recruit for the position, he does fit the description of the long-term quarterback.
