The Philadelphia Eagles are expecting Nick Sirianni back in 2024, according to the report

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Nick Sirianni appears to be staying on as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024.

After an impressive 10-1 start to the season, concerns were raised over Sirianni’s job security. This is due to the Eagles’ disastrous finish, which included an NFC Wild Card game loss to the Tampa Bay Bucs and the loss of six of their seven games.

Nevertheless, Sirianni is probably returning to Philadelphia for a fourth season.

Schefter stated on SportsCenter, “The Eagles lost on Monday night, and here we are on Sunday, midday, late morning, and he’s still the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.” Right now, everything suggests that Nick Sirianni will return. You never know when these discussions will end or alter, and Jeffrey Lurie may decide to make a change at any time. However, there has been no indication as of now that anything will happen with Nick Sirianni.

Nobody desires to express themselves. Everyone is cautious about the specifics, guarding the whole thing, but what counts for the time being is that it looks—and I say LOOKS because these things may change—like he is planning to return this year.

Schefter stated that if Sirianni returns to Philadelphia, adjustments would be made.

“There will be changes, particularly with the coaching staff on the football defensive side. But if something were to happen with Nick Sirianni right now, I don’t believe it would be shocking. Not that it can’t be done; there’s always the possibility of a surprise for now. If he is not reinstated as the Eagles’ head coach, that will be shocking.

For Eagles fans, the defensive end of things was wild. In the last part of the regular season, Matt Patricia took over as defensive coordinator after Sean DeSai was removed from his DC role.

There was no progress on the defence; in fact, one could argue that it grew worse. It wasn’t encouraging that Sirianni’s offence was playing so slowly either.

Brian Johnson, the offensive coordinator, came under fire; it’s unclear if he’ll return in 2024. This cycle, Johnson was the subject of multiple head coaching interviews.

In his three seasons with the Eagles, Sirianni is 34-17 with a 2-3 postseason record. During his career, he has guided Philadelphia to the postseason every year, including last year’s Super Bowl LVII.

Philadelphia’s 38-35 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs means that 2023 will either be a boom or disaster season for the team.
