There has been speculation among L.A. Rams fans about the possibility of the team rehiring a former defensive coach to fill the potential vacancy left by Raheem Morris if he secures a head coaching role elsewhere. However, fans’ preferred choices for the position are Brandon Staley or Ejiro Evero. Regrettably for them, Joe Barry has also become an option.
Joe Barry was let go by the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday from his position as defensive coordinator, which could lead to a potential opportunity for him to rejoin the Rams.
Barry worked as an assistant head coach and linebackers coach for Sean McVay for four years. However, he left that position to join the Packers as the defensive coordinator, after being hired by Matt LaFleur, a former offensive coordinator for the Rams. Although he held the job for three years, Barry faced constant criticism from Green Bay fans throughout his time there.
In addition to his coaching stints at USC, Northern Arizona, and UNLV, Barry has also worked as a coach for the 49ers, Bucs, Lions, Chargers, and Commanders.
