Former Dodgers Outfielder May Be on the Verge of a Surprising NL West Reunion.

In addition to the Dodgers, the Arizona Diamondbacks have invested a substantial amount of money this offseason to enhance their team. They acquired pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez, who is left-handed, and secured the services of outfielder Lourdes Guirriel Jr.

According to ESPN’s Buster Olney, the Diamondbacks have recently been discussing the possibility of signing Joc Pederson, formerly of the Dodgers, to serve as a designated hitter and outfielder for their team.

According to a report by Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic, an agreement between the Arizona Diamondbacks and outfielder Joc Pederson seems to be imminent. Pederson, who began his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2014, played a significant role in the team’s success during his seven-year tenure. His overall performance included a batting average of .230, an on-base percentage of .337, and a slugging percentage of .470. Additionally, Pederson received an All-Star recognition in 2015.

Following his World Series victory in 2020, he decided to join the Chicago Cubs. However, the Cubs eventually traded Pederson to the Atlanta Braves, who ended up winning the World Series that same year. For the past two years, he has been playing for the San Francisco Giants, a rival team of the Dodgers. Now, there is a possibility that he could further taunt Dodgers fans by joining the team that eliminated them in the 2023 NLDS.

In the previous season, Pederson showcased a .764 OPS and accomplished 15 home runs while playing in the Bay Area. Although renowned for his strength against right-handed pitchers, he had a relatively underwhelming performance last year in comparison to his usual standards when facing righties, with a 115 wRC+ and .786 OPS.

Despite this, he excels in the playoffs, boasting a .814 OPS and hitting 12 home runs in 79 games. The Diamondbacks would greatly benefit from this postseason performance as they aim to build on their achievements from the previous year.
