The San Francisco 49ers announced on Saturday that they had added WR Willie Snead IV and LB Curtis Robinson to the active roster for the NFC Championship game versus the Lions.
Snead, 30, originally signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2014. He lasted only a few months in Cleveland before joining the Panthers’ practice squad during his first season.
He joined the Saints at the end of the year and stayed in New Orleans for three years. Following that, Snead signed a two-year offer sheet with the Ravens worth up to $10.4 million in 2018.
Snead had completed a one-year, $6 million agreement for the 2020 season and was testing the market as an unrestricted free agent when he agreed to a one-year deal with the Raiders. However, Las Vegas dismissed him during the season, and he joined the Panthers’ practice squad, appearing in a few games.
He eventually signed with the 49ers and has been on and off of their roster ever since.
In 2022, Snead appeared in four games but did not provide any statistics.
