Police are looking into claims of domestic assault made by wide receiver Zay Flowers of the Baltimore Ravens, according to a report.
Although there were few facts available, Justin Fenton, Tim Prudente, and Jonas Shaffer of the Baltimore Banner confirmed that Baltimore County Police were informed of an alleged attack involving Flowers on January 21 in the Owings Mills neighborhood. The probe also involves the Acton, Massachusetts, police department.
Flowers is not facing any criminal charges, and the Ravens confirmed that they were made aware of the report. The claimed event happened one week before the AFC championship, which Flowers participated in despite the accusations and had a very difficult time winning.
Flowers, a Boston College graduate, was chosen by the Ravens with the 22nd overall pick in the previous year, and he made an immediate impression on the field. With 858 receiving yards, he led the squad and also hauled in five touchdown receptions.
