Dolphins Notebook: FA Guard Visits, Fuller’s Family Race, and More

The Miami Dolphins held a free agent visit with guard Phil Haynes on Monday in addition to re-signing one of their own free agents and adding one from another team.

After playing for the Seattle Seahawks for the last four seasons, Haynes is now a free agent.

Haynes entered the NFL as a fourth-round choice in 2019 and made five starts in his first four seasons. He then became a full-time starter last season, but a toe injury that sent him to injured reserve ended his season after only eight games.

Haynes is listed at 6-4, 322 and was a Wake Forest collegiate player.

On Monday, the Dolphins signed guard/tackle Jack Driscoll as a UFA from the Philadelphia Eagles and re-signed guard Isaiah Wynn.

UPDATE: SUPER BOWL ODDS

For the Dolphins, the initial wave of free agency was not favorable, at least not in terms of BetOline’s Super Bowl odds.

After Christian Wilkins, Robert Hunt, and Andrew Van Ginkel were lost in free agency, the Dolphins moved from 18/1 to 28/1. They also tied for the 13th-best odds with the Atlanta Falcons, who started the offseason at 33/1.

However, the Dolphins shouldn’t feel alone because their odds were worsened for 17 other clubs. The Detroit Lions saw the greatest drop out of all the contenders, falling from 7/1 to 14/1.

San Francisco and Kansas City are currently tied for first place at 6/1 after the 49ers remained at 5/1 and the Chiefs moved up from 5/1.
