Rabbitohs Duo Surgery; Campbell Blow
Tevita Tatola, a prop for the Rabbitohs, will be out for up to 12 weeks following surgery for a foot fracture. Early in the Sharks game, Tatola sustained an injury that was later diagnosed as a fifth metatarsal fracture.
Tatola is expected to be out of the game for six weeks without bearing any weight and “typically around a 12-week rehab and return to play timeline,” according to Rabbitohs head of performance Andrew Croll.
Tyrone Munro, a Winger, will also require surgery after suffering a fractured collarbone against the Sharks. The Titans fullback Jayden Campbell has been dealt yet another blow to his injury report, which now indicates he has a knee ailment that will keep him out of action for at least a month. The 24-year-old tried to play through the injury early in the second half, but was pulled off the field in the 64th minute of the Raiders’ Round 6 golden point loss due to a PCL injury.
After missing the opening fortnight of the season as he recovered from a dislocated patella suffered last year, the Titans say Campbell will be unavailable for up to six weeks.
The Dolphins are preparing to be without fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow for at least a month following confirmation of the severity of a hamstring injury suffered in Round 6.
Hammer, who has a history of these kinds of injuries, suffered a grade two hamstring injury last Friday while pursuing Corey Oates on what turned out to be a dead play.
