Running back J.K. Dobbins is set to join the Los Angeles Chargers on a one-year deal, according to his agents who informed multiple media outlets on Wednesday.
Dobbins, aged 25, previously played for four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. In Los Angeles, he will reunite with former Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who now serves as the Chargers’ offensive coordinator.
Dobbins’ 2023 season was cut short due to an Achilles injury suffered in the season opener against the Houston Texans. He managed just eight carries for 22 yards during that abbreviated campaign.
Injuries have plagued Dobbins throughout his NFL career. After an impressive rookie season in 2020 with 805 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, he tore his ACL in a 2021 preseason game, causing him to miss the entire season.
Returning in 2022, Dobbins was hampered by another knee injury that limited him to eight games, where he accumulated 520 yards and two touchdowns.
Dobbins was drafted by the Ravens in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft (55th overall) out of Ohio State.
