The Penrith Panthers have reportedly extended the contract of hooker Billy Scott, one of their standout junior players, on a long-term deal.
Scott has been a product of the Penrith system, progressing through the ranks from the Harold Matthews Cup to the SG Ball Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup. Last season, he made two appearances in the NSW Cup before debuting in Round 3 against the Sydney Roosters.
In his debut game, Scott demonstrated his skills with 25 tackles (89.3% efficiency), 52 passes from dummy-half, and 54.6 kicking metres.
Having represented NSW in the Under-19s State of Origin against Queensland last year, Scott has now committed to the Panthers until the end of the 2027 season, as reported by Code Sports. This extension follows his earlier development contract that tied him to the club until at least 2025.
Despite being only 26 years old, Scott is seen as a long-term replacement for Mitch Kenny. The Panthers anticipate a dynamic hooker partnership between Scott and Kenny in the coming seasons.
