The Miami Dolphins will need to address several roster spots when the 2024 NFL Draft begins on Thursday night in Detroit, Michigan. Thankfully, there are few incredibly gifted prospects who may be able to assist them.
On Thursday, the Dolphins will start the clock with selection #21. Unless they trade out of the spot, that is. When Miami has the opportunity to make a decision, a handful of players may still be available.
The following six players ought to be considered for Miami.
1)Washington OL Troy Fautanu
Miami’s offensive line still needs a lot of work, and having a player with Fautanu’s positional versatility would be fantastic. Though he is a tackle potential, his strength should allow him to cover guard, where Miami may need two starters.
2) California C Jackson Powers-Johnson
Although Powers-Johnson has a rare blend of toughness and athleticism, his age of 21 may appear early for a center. For the next five years, he can be easily added to Mike McDaniel’s rushing assault and should fit right in. If he’s still there, it makes perfect sense.
3) IOL at Duke Graham Barton Barton, as previously said, is a guard that the Dolphins need. In a pinch, he could also play tackle, a position he held for three years at Duke. At 6’5″ and 313 pounds, he is a powerful run blocker who would provide the necessary size and aggression to the Dolphins’ offensive line, which has been lacking.
4) The advantage of Florida State Verse Jared
In the middle of the summer, the Dolphins’ pass rush is seriously questionable because Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips are both recovering from major late-season injuries.
5) UCLA’s advantage The medical background of Laiatu Latu Latu may cause some teams to hesitate. The Dolphins, who saw nothing but injuries hit their roster in 2023, ought to give that some thought.
6) DT Jer’Zhan Newton of Illinois
Christian Wilkins, a highly athletic defensive tackle who excels at pass rush, left the Dolphins in free agency to join Las Vegas.
