Watch: what Really happened At the Blue Jays vs. Padres Game, An Embarrassed Leafs Fan Conceals His Sweatshirt.

Following a lopsided 5-1 away loss to the Boston Bruins on Saturday, the Toronto Maple Leafs Stanley Cup Playoff run got off to a disappointing start. A fan hundreds of miles away demonstrated the embarrassment that the majority of Leafs fans were experiencing prior to the final whistle.

A spectator was seen hiding their Leafs sweatshirt with a baseball shirt during the fifth inning of the Toronto Blue Jays vs. San Diego Padres game.

The Bruins and Leafs, two of the original six teams, have a lengthy and legendary history that includes multiple postseason meetings. However, the Bruins have recently had more of an advantage in the game, with their home arena, TD Garden, turning into a horror show for the opposing Leafs.

Even though Toronto has a 6-7 record at the arena in the postseason since 2013, it has witnessed heartbreaking series finales each time.

When Patrice Bergeron shocked the Leafs in Game 7 of 2013, it was an overtime victory. After giving up four consecutive goals in the third period, Toronto lost a decisive Game 7 at TD Garden in 2018. Similarly, the Maple Leafs were eliminated in the first round in 2019 for the second year in a row, losing Game 7 in Boston by a score of 5-1

Although there is still time for the Maple Leafs to turn things around, they don’t appear to be in the best of shape to end their current run of success, at least not if Game 1 of their round one series against the Bruins is any guide.
