Report: Las Vegas Raiders Attempting To Move Up For Blockbuster Trade To Land Franchise QB

The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly interested in executing a significant trade during the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft to bolster their roster under new head coach Antonio Pierce.

Pierce is keen on acquiring one of the top quarterback prospects in the draft, particularly former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, who shares an interest in reuniting with Pierce.

While Raiders general manager Tom Telesco is open to selecting a quarterback like Michael Penix Jr. with the 13th pick, ownership has authorized Telesco to explore trading up for a quarterback to support Pierce. Telesco expressed admiration for Pierce’s vision for the team during recent discussions.

According to reports, the Raiders have reached out to the Washington Commanders about potentially acquiring the No. 2 overall pick, but Commanders general manager Adam Peters intends to retain and utilize the pick. Meanwhile, the New England Patriots, holding the No. 3 pick, have not received a substantive offer from the Raiders.

The question remains whether Telesco is prepared to offer significant draft capital to secure Pierce’s desired quarterback. While initial inquiries have been made, it remains to be seen if the Raiders will pursue a more serious trade to secure their targeted player in the draft.
