Terry Hill, 52, dies away

Following the news that legendary NSW Blues player Terry Hill, a former Australian Kangaroo, has died at the age of 52, the rugby league community is in sorrow.

Football player Hill, who was gifted, signed a professional contract with the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 1990 and remained active until the end of the 2005 season. Hill played for the Rabbitohs, Eastern Suburbs, Western Suburbs Magpies, Manly Sea Eagles, and Wests Tigers throughout a 16-year career.

Hill, who is most remembered for his time spent with the Sea Eagles, also played for the NSW Blues 14 times and the Kangaroos 9 times in Test matches. In an NRL statement, ARLC chairman Peter V’landys said, “Terry was a prodigiously talented footballer who burst onto the scene in first grade as a teenager and went on to represent Australia in nine Test matches as well as playing 14 State of Origin matches for New South Wales.” In addition to being one of the greatest centers in history, he was also regarded as one of the game’s most well-liked figures. Throughout his lengthy tenure in the top division, his enormous personality won the affection of every player he faced.
