Baltimore Ravens Extend Former 1st-Round Pick

The Baltimore Ravens reached an agreement on Wednesday to extend one of their former first-round picks ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft. The news coincided with other teams making moves to extend their 2021 draft picks.

Earlier in the day, the Detroit Lions made waves by extending Amon-Ra St. Brown, their fourth-round pick from the 2021 draft, with a four-year, $120 million contract. St. Brown’s new deal is expected to have a significant impact on the wider receiver market, particularly for top-tier pass catchers.

Following suit, the Baltimore Ravens secured Rashod Bateman for the foreseeable future. According to a statement released by the Ravens, Bateman’s contract now runs through the 2026 season. Specific financial details of the extension were not disclosed by either the Ravens or Bateman’s representatives.

Bateman was selected by the Ravens with the 27th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Since entering the league, he has amassed 93 receptions for 1,167 yards and four touchdowns over three seasons.

Ravens fans had mixed reactions to the news of Bateman’s extension, with varying opinions and sentiments circulating across social media platforms.
