A football player on the practice field suffers horrific head injuries
Tuesday’s training scare for the Brisbane Broncos came from a collision with teammate Patrick Carrigan that left Jordan Riki covered in blood.
Following the match at Red Hill, blood was observed pouring from the back-rower’s temple as medical personnel treated both players. However, according to News Corp, Riki and Carrigan should be OK to play against the Sydney Roosters on Friday.
At Suncorp Stadium, all eyes will be on Ezra Mam when he takes on the Tricolors for the first time since opposing player Spencer Leniu insulted him racially at the Las Vegas season opener. Leniu, who received an eight-week ban for referring to Mam as a “monkey,” will miss Friday’s game. Broncos captain Adam Reynolds, who will play alongside Mam in the second half, is optimistic that there won’t be any problems this weekend.
