BREAKING NEWS:Crichton Ripe For NSW Recall Under Old Coach Maguire

Crichton, under former coach Maguire, is ready for a NSW recall.

Under new coach Michael Maguire, Sydney Roosters second-rower Angus Crichton is back to his best, which has made him a fixture for NSW in the State of Origin and likely to be called up for a Blues comeback. In Friday night’s 40-18 victory over the Broncos, Crichton scored two tries and completely overwhelmed the Brisbane defense with his explosive charges. Roosters coach Trent Robinson acknowledged that Crichton was in a “purple patch” after the game.

With his contract expiring at the conclusion of this season, Crichton is free to choose whether to switch to rugby union. He has a solid relationship with Maguire from his time spent playing for South Sydney.

Having played for the Blues eleven times, he stated that it was “definitely something I’d like to do” after his last game was in 2022. “Madge gave me my debut back at Souths in 2015 and was my first ever coach in the NRL, so a lot of good history there and good memories,” Crichton stated.

“I enjoy pushing myself to the limit and participating in the greatest games. “I met with him and spoke with him, but I didn’t attend the (NSW pre-season) camp. “Madge is a really nice, straightforward, and honest guy who says it like it is. “I’ve got a great relationship with him.”
