Adam Reynolds, the captain of the Broncos, suffered a bicep rip during Friday night’s loss to the Sydney Roosters, and will miss three months of play.
Reynolds is anticipated to make a comeback later in the season, however scans on Saturday verified the severity of the injury.
“He will undergo surgery early this week and miss 12 to 14 weeks,” stated Dave Ballard, the head of performance for the Broncos.
After x-rays revealed that outside back Jesse Arthars had broken his jaw against the Roosters, Arthars also needed surgery.
“Jesse had surgery today to treat a fracture to his jaw. Six weeks will pass,” Ballard said.
In lieu of Reynolds, Broncos head coach Kevin Walters will insert former Wests Tigers five-eighth Jock Madden, with Ezra Mam moving to halfback.
But Madden’s pectoral muscle injury has kept him out of the game, so he might not be able to play against Parramatta on Friday night.
