The San Francisco 49ers will play the New York Jets at home to begin their 2024 regular season on “Monday Night Football.” But on Monday night, head coach Kyle Shanahan’s squad will be in the spotlight for more than just that first-round game. Joe Buck revealed on “Good Morning America” that the Niners will play in a second game on ESPN and ABC. Speaking about future games besides the opening contest, Buck said, “We know that we also have the Cowboys twice, and we have the Chiefs twice.” The Bills are with us twice. We’ll be seeing the 49ers again soon.”
San Francisco had two Monday night appearances last season: an October 23 loss to the Minnesota Vikings and a Christmas night defeat against the Baltimore Ravens, which aired on ABC.
Since 2018, the 49ers have played at least one Monday night game each season. Coming off a Super Bowl appearance, San Francisco is again anticipated to be regularly featured in prime time during the 2024 season.
