The Kansas City Chiefs are updating their trophy cabinet, which appears to be a yearly habit. Following back-to-back Super Bowl victories, the Kansas City Chiefs have taken time out of their hectic offseason schedule to dust off the trophies in the trophy case as they make room for a new addition.
Finally, on Friday, when the widely anticipated NFL schedule release passed, the Chiefs staff found a moment of reprieve from their hectic offseason schedule. It was time for a long-standing tradition: the introduction of a new item to the trophy case.
The newest Lombardi Trophy from the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers is back in Kansas City, where it belongs. The Chiefs placed it in the trophy case.
First and foremost, it is lovely, and four trophies in the case clearly look better than three. Second, I saw the t-shirt, as I am sure everyone else did as well. It’s fantastic that the Chiefs have decided to feature the “In Spags We Trust” t-shirt that safety Justin Reid has made so well-known.
The Chiefs should make this a yearly practice, doing the same in 2024-25.
