Report: Baltimore Ravens Have a HUGE Advantage in the 2024 Schedule

The Baltimore Ravens hope to have a memorable 2024 NFL season. This follows a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game previous year. Given that the Ravens had the best record in the NFL last season, many believe it was a disappointing end to their season.

Fortunately, the Ravens appear to have one significant advantage in the 2024 schedule, which should increase their chances of redemption. Read on to find out what that benefit is.

Baltimore Ravens Have Biggest Rest Advantage in 2024

The NFL schedules teams to play on certain days of the week. Each team is also assigned a bye for one week of the regular season. In Baltimore’s case, the way these dates line up benefits them in a major way.

According to Warren Sharp of SharpFootballAnalysis.com, the Ravens have the biggest rest advantage in the NFL for the 2024 season. Baltimore ended up with 16 more rest days than their opponents for next season.

Notable Bye Advantages
Baltimore has several weeks during this upcoming season where they have a notable rest advantage. The most obvious time is after their bye week when they have seven more rest days than their opponent.

However, something very notable is the Ravens do not have to face one team coming off of their bye next week next season. While they are not the only team in this fortunate position, they are just one of four teams not facing a team off of a bye week or a Thursday Night Football game next season.

Plus, the Ravens have three mini-byes this season. They play on Thursday twice this season along with a Christmas Day game that takes place on a Wednesday.

Minor Disadvantages
It is clear the Ravens have several weeks during the 2024 season where they will have more rest time than their opponent. If that was not enough, there are only two weeks where the Ravens will even have a minor rest disadvantage compared to their opponent.

In both of these cases, the rest disadvantage is just one day. That is because the Ravens have to play on Monday Night Football twice this season. Ironically, both times are on the road. These instances come in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Week 12 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Still, this is a small price to pay for the scheduling advantages they get in return. Considering the Ravens have one of the toughest schedules in the NFL (based on last year’s records), this could help them match the success they had last season.
