Chiefs HC Andy Reid had the ideal reaction to the peculiar 2024 NFL schedule oddity

The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the most unusual NFL schedules for the 2024 season. After winning back-to-back Super Bowls, every network wants a piece of the league’s most popular team. As a result, the Chiefs face a hard schedule, and the NFL is aware of it.

They’ll be the first team in Super Bowl history to play on six different days of the week in a single season. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was asked if he had any input or is notified of any scheduling changes ahead of time. His reaction to the whole situation was great.

“They don’t ask me,” Reid said. “It’s the first time in my career that that has happened. It’s unique. You know how we are, we don’t really care. They can give us a Tuesday game if they want, we’ll be OK there, too. We work through it, we’ll play anybody, anywhere. Whatever they want to do, we’re on board.”

This tends to be the attitude the team has held as long as Andy Reid has been in Kansas City. They control what they can and the NFL schedule isn’t one of those things. They pride themselves on being able to rise to the occasion no matter the perceived difficulty and challenge ahead of them.

The comments were reminiscent of his postgame speech after the Week 18 win over the Los Angeles Chargers last season.

“Doesn’t matter who’s playing,” he said. “Anywhere we want to play. CVS parking lot? We’ll play!

So, if the NFL happens to move a game to a Tuesday next season, they’ll grin and bear it and play on Tuesday.
