Simone Biles has taken aim at journalists covering the Olympics in Paris for asking athletes what their plans are after winning medals.
This summer’s Games have made Biles the most decorated American gymnast in history. On Saturday, she won another gold medal in the vault finals.
The 27-year-old had already claimed gold in the teams finals and all-around events earlier this week, before picking up a third at the weekend with a score of 15.3 across her two vaults.
Yet after her latest triumph, Simone took to social media to express her frustration with the line of questioning reporters are opting for in Paris.
She wrote on X: ‘you guys really gotta stop asking athletes what’s next after they win a medal at the Olympics.
Biles then added in another post: ‘let us soak up the moment we’ve worked our whole lives for’.
When asked by a fan what does come next for her after winning another gold, she replied: ‘babysitting the medal’.
Biles’ victory in Saturday’s vault final handed her the seventh gold medal of her illustrious Olympics career.
