Sad News : Luana Alonso, the Olympic swimmer, was expelled from the Paris 2024 Olympic Village due to claims that she had created a “inappropriate environment.”

The swimmer from Paraguay just placed last in the women’s 100-meter butterfly heat, five seconds behind Helena Rosendahl Bach. Alonso, who got notoriety online, declared her retirement from swimming.

Athletes that are eliminated are typically still able to stay at the Olympic Village in Paris. She can no longer stay in the community, though. The COP mission leader, Larissa Schaerer, said, “Her presence is creating an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay.”

“We thank her for proceeding as instructed, as it was of her own free will that she did not spend the night in the Athletes’ Village.” Alonso hasn’t addressed the accusations as of yet.

“I regretfully made the decision to stop, but I’m happy that this will be my last race at the Olympics.” Alonso, an Olympian from Tokyo as well, mentioned that she had made this choice “a long time ago.”

“People, my decision was made a long time ago!” she said in her explanation. It had nothing to do with the Games! I simply must express my gratitude to everyone who has always stood with me.

She apologised to her fans in Paraguay after finishing last in her final race, stating, “It didn’t happen the way I wanted it to.” I truly apologise to Paraguay, but despite a number of unfortunate events in the past, I did the best I could. Thus, I’m content to retire here and watch the Olympic Games when the stadium is full.
