Cleveland Guardians have announced that star outfielder, Steven Kwan, has been placed on extended leave for violating team rules. The 25-year-old Kwan, who has been a key contributor to the Guardians’ success this season, will be away from the team for an undetermined amount of time.
According to sources, Kwan’s leave is related to a violation of the team’s social media policy, which prohibits players from engaging in activities that may be deemed detrimental to the team’s image.
“We take these matters seriously and hold our players to high standards,” said Guardians Manager, Terry Francona. “Steven understands the severity of the situation and is taking full responsibility for his actions.
Kwan, who has been a fan favorite in Cleveland, has expressed remorse for his actions and is committed to regaining the trust of his teammates and the organization.
The Guardians will continue to support Kwan during his leave and look forward to his return to the team when the time is right. In the meantime, the team will focus on maintaining their momentum in the highly competitive American League Central division.
