Auburn Tigers football team has been dealt a massive blow as several of their star players have been suspended for six months due to violations of COVID-19 protocols. This unfortunate news comes just as the team was gearing up for a crucial part of the season.
The suspensions were handed down after an investigation revealed that the players had breached the university and NCAA’s strict health and safety guidelines. The infractions reportedly occurred off-campus during a team break, with the players involved failing to adhere to social distancing and mask mandates.
Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze expressed his disappointment, saying, “It’s a tough loss for our team, and it’s a reminder of how critical it is to follow the rules for the safety of everyone. We will regroup and move forward, but it won’t be easy.”
The suspended players have issued public apologies for their actions, but the repercussions will be felt for months. Their absence leaves significant gaps in the lineup
