Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin made headlines with his blunt comments about the latest College Football Playoff (CFP) rankings and the Rebels’ dominance over South Carolina in their recent matchup. Known for his outspoken nature, Kiffin didn’t hold back when addressing both topics in a press conference.
Reflecting on Ole Miss’ commanding performance against the Gamecocks, Kiffin quipped:
“We could still be playing the game; they still might not have scored a touchdown.”
Ole Miss’ defense stifled South Carolina in a lopsided victory, limiting their offense to minimal production.
The comment underscores the Rebels’ dominance and highlights Kiffin’s confidence in his team’s performance.
Kiffin also voiced dissatisfaction with Ole Miss’ placement in the CFP rankings, suggesting that the Rebels deserve more respect:
“We’ve proven we can play with anyone, and yet here we are, not getting the recognition we’ve earned.”
