In a stunning turn of events, top South Carolina linebacker Kyle Kennard has announced his commitment to the Oklahoma Sooners. Kennard, who was heavily pursued by Tennessee, Michigan, and other powerhouse programs, decided to take his talents to Norman, marking a major recruiting win for the Sooners.
Kennard, widely regarded as one of the top defensive prospects in the 2024 class, brings a combination of elite athleticism, instinct, and leadership to Brent Venables’ defense. The linebacker was a centerpiece in several other schools’ recruiting efforts, but Oklahoma’s consistent vision and defensive reputation sealed the deal.
“After careful consideration, I am excited to announce that I’m committed to the University of Oklahoma. The coaching staff and culture in Norman felt like home,” Kennard shared in his announcement.
This flip adds momentum to Oklahoma’s already impressive recruiting class, bolstering their aspirations as they transition into SEC competition.
