John Mateer, one of the most sought-after quarterbacks in the 2025 class, has flipped his commitment to the South Carolina Gamecocks, choosing them over powerhouse programs like Tennessee, Michigan, and others.
Head Coach Shane Beamer and his staff played a pivotal role in securing Mateer’s commitment.
South Carolina’s offensive system aligns well with Mateer’s skill set, which includes exceptional passing accuracy and mobility. Mateer is expected to compete for a starting role early in his career, a prospect that excited the young QB.
