The Texas Longhorns have made a major splash in the recruiting world, landing twin defensive ends Darryll and Mandrell Desir. The Fort Lauderdale, Florida standouts have flipped their commitment from Florida State to join Texas, choosing the Longhorns over offers from Penn State, Nebraska, and other powerhouse programs.
• Darryll Desir (6’5”, 245 lbs): Known for his elite pass-rushing skills, Darryll combines explosive speed and power to disrupt opposing quarterbacks consistently. He is ranked as one of the top edge rushers in the country.
• Mandrell Desir (6’6”, 250 lbs): A dominant run-stopper with the versatility to shift inside, Mandrell is equally impactful, boasting a relentless work ethic and high football IQ.
The twins are ranked among the top 10 defensive ends in the 2025 class and bring a rare combination of talent, athleticism, and chemistry to the field.
The Desir twins cited their strong connection with Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski as pivotal factors in their decision.
“Texas is building something special, and we wanted to be a part of it,” said Darryll. “The coaching staff made it clear they had a plan for us.”
“Austin felt like the perfect place to develop as players and as people,” added Mandrell.
