JUST IN: Twin Defensive Ends Darryll and Mandrell Desir Decommit from Florida State, Sign with Virginia Tech Hokies Over Penn State, Nebraska, and More

Virginia Tech has pulled off a major recruiting coup by landing twin defensive ends Darryll and Mandrell Desir. The dynamic duo, who previously committed to Florida State, announced their decision to flip to the Hokies after a whirlwind recruiting process that saw significant interest from Penn State, Nebraska, and Miami.

Hailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Darryll and Mandrell Desir are considered two of the most promising defensive linemen in the 2025 class.

• Darryll Desir: At 6’5” and 245 pounds, Darryll brings an exceptional blend of speed, technique, and power. He’s known for his ability to dominate one-on-one matchups and collapse the pocket.
• Mandrell Desir: At 6’6” and 250 pounds, Mandrell complements his brother with a relentless motor and a knack for stopping the run. His combination of size and athleticism makes him a nightmare for offensive coordinators.

Both players rank among the top 10 defensive ends nationally, and their chemistry on the field adds a unique dynamic to any defensive unit.

The Desir twins cited their relationship with Hokies head coach Brent Pry and defensive line coach J.C. Price as pivotal in their decision.

“Virginia Tech felt like home,” said Darryll. “Coach Pry’s defensive philosophy aligns perfectly with how we want to play.”
“The chance to help restore Virginia Tech’s dominance on defense was too exciting to pass up,” Mandrell added.
