The Texas Longhorns received a major boost as their starting quarterback and three other key players announced they are withdrawing from the transfer portal to stay with the program for the 2025 season. Despite being offered lucrative NIL deals from rival schools, these athletes have reaffirmed their commitment to Texas and its bright future.
The quarterback, a key leader for the Longhorns’ offense, expressed his loyalty, saying, “Texas is home. We have a great team and a chance to do something special here, and Iām staying to help lead us to the top.” Alongside him, a standout wide receiver and two defensive stars also decided to stay, turning down offers elsewhere.
Head coach Steve Sarkisian celebrated their decision, stating, “These players are the backbone of our program. Their dedication to Texas is a testament to the strength of this team and our vision for the future.”
With this core group returning, Texas is poised for a strong 2025 season, with high hopes for a run at the Big 12 title and beyond.
